Our Lady of the Lakes, Waterford

Our Lady of the Lakes began as an outgrowth of St. Patrick in White Lake. Fr. Frederick Delaney celebrated the first Mass on September 26, 1948. At it's founding, Our Lady of the Lakes had 150 registered families.

Plans for a new church and social hall were drawn in 1950 and the building was dedicated on May 13, 1951 by Archbishop Mooney. The parish built a new rectory in 1953 and a new school in 1956. The parish quickly grew over the next three decades to a total of 3,100 families.

In 1985, ground was broken on the current edifice; Archbishop Szoka dedicated the new church two years later.

Daily Mass is at 8:15am, Monday-Friday while Saturday Vigil Mass is at 5:30pm. Sunday Masses are at 8:00am, 9:30am, 11:00am and 12:30pm.

There have been 7 pastors in 7 decades at Our Lady of the Lakes. Fr. Scott Thibodeau has been pastor since July, 2017, and assisted by Fr. Christopher Muer, ordained to the priesthood last year.

Two permanent deacons, John Schulte and Stephen P. Talbot, also minister at the parish.

As of 2014, there were 560 students enrolled in the parish K-12 schools.

Christ the Good Shepherd stands on one end of the nave, Madonna and Child are the other side.
